Product creation journey on an e-commerce print-on-demand platform
Product creation journey – Design upload
The project
Moteefe platform had outgrown itself, and it was in crucial need of a product redesign. One of the critical issues with the old platform was that it didn't scale to the modern standards and didn't follow any basic UX principles. It's left our new users frustrated and highly unsatisfied. This case study covers our product creation journey for our sellers. In Q1, we worked on discovery and scopes and designed the MVP experience for the new journey.

The problem that we are trying to solve
The product creation journey is our core expertise which relies on our global printer partnerships. Our goal was to create a transparent journey where our users can have a complete overview of their products – materials, printers, production time, footprint – and freely choose what works best with their business.
We learned the following journey based on our brief research with our top sellers.

New seller user journey
Considering our previous findings and the limited timeline, we agreed on the following user journey. We prioritised our product creation journey, emphasising one product with multiple designs for the MVP.

Constraints
Timelines & Delivery Goals
We had a short timeline –
• Q1 - research, scope, wireframe, develop
• Q2 - design refinement, tech dep
• Q3 - user research – and many constraints to overcome.
We wanted to focus on the MVP but, in the meantime, make sure that our product is scaleable for future iterations.
Team
Our team comprised one product manager, one engineering manager, the CEO, the CTO, four engineers, two developers, and I. We were small, scrappy, and needed to balance tight deadlines while focusing on the new features.
Research Inputs
We had a low volume of sellers, so we leaned on the competition's analyses and learning our current user's journey.

Design system
We continue working on a design system. It is created and maintained in Figma.
